Morrisons Makes It!!

index

Morrisons Dalkeith will once again be in partnership with the Dalkeith Show.

Make sure you pop into their tent and see them.  They will have lots of samples and will be selling products from their Morrisons Makes It Range, including

Freshly baked bread, scones, muffins and cookies.

Snack on freshly baked pies (fruit and meat) and sausage rolls.

Pick up juicy Scottish raspsberries or strawberries

They will also have chilled juice and water available for this wonderful summer weather.

And some crisps and sweets too.

They will be raising funds for their charity partner Clic Sargent.

“CLIC Sargent fights tirelessly for children and young people with cancer, often when they feel they can’t. We do this individually, locally and nationally, so that they can focus on the important things, like getting well. And if the worst happens, we will work with bereaved families to get them support, to help them cope with their emotional pain”

This is one tent definitely not to be missed!!

Tyne Esk LEADER Funding [...]

FUTURE PROOFING DALKEITH SHOW

Towards the end of 2017 Dalkeith Agricultural Society’s Treasurer undertook on behalf of the Society the exercise of pulling together an application to the Tyne Esk LEADER Funding Project

The aim was to FUTURE PROOF DALKEITH SHOW.

The Show brings livestock exhibitors, farmers, equestrian enthusiasts, a good mix of trade stand exhibitors and the local community together in one day in a wonderful outdoor countryside setting. With visitor numbers rising significantly in 2017 there is an increasing interest and awareness from the public in how their food is produced.

The Show provides them with the opportunity to see how and speak to some of these producers.

However, to comply with health and safety requirements and ensure the safety of competitors and the visiting public the Society must hire in crowd barriers, livestock gates, horse jumps, marquees, public address systems etc. It was the wish of the current committee to commit to the purchase of some of these items with a view to making the show more self-sufficient and enabling the Society to manage future costs associated with the running of the Show.

We heard earlier this year that our application had been successful and with the aid of Tyne Esk LEADER Funding the Society have been able to purchase:

Crowd Barriers

Additional Sheep pens

Working Hunter Jumps

General Purpose Trailer
